Caring no Matter What

Authors note: When I wrote theis essay I wanted to show the importance of loving your family no matter what. As you read my essay please look for my use of a anaphora.

As she moves through the forest hunting for game, every move she makes she is careful not to get caught. The woods she is hunting in are forbidden by District 12. She risks her life everyday to support and provide food for her family, as she is their main source of food and other necessities. In the book The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen knows firsthand the importance of loving and caring for her family no matter what happens in the world around her.

A lot of families in the 21st century are going through rough times for many reasons.  You might be struggling with money. You might be struggling with marriage. You might be struggling with loss of a loved one, but the important thing is that throughout those times you support and adore your family even when times get tough.

At a young age, Katniss took on the important role as the mother when her dad died in a mining accident.  Mrs. Everdeen went into a time of sadness and depression and was not there for her kids.  So Katniss did what she needed to do, she went off into the forbidden forest everyday and got food to trade in the Black Market to feed her family. Trying to keep her little sister, Prim and herself presentable or the district would put them into a foster home because their mother is no longer in a position to care for them.

Even though Mrs. Everdeen was a widow and she didn’t have to worry about divorce, the divorce rate in the U.S.A is  still at 50%. This might be because a couple might be fighting about money instead of supporting each other’s ideas. All families struggling with one thing or another need to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. This meaning you should be wanting to listen intently and let it process through your brain before you say anything you regret. Instead of just shouting one hurtful thing after another at each other, because this doesn't help any problems. It just makes you feel alone.

Now you can see how Katniss learns the importance of loving and caring for her family during tough times in the book The Hunger Games. She, like other adults, probably felt like they were standing alone in a forest filled with wild animals circling around her, she can hear the sound of bushes moving around her, the animal inside waiting to attack you. This is how some adults and kids feel these days, alone and scared nobody around that you can lean on. I can only imagine what it would be like if every family in the world would be loving understanding no matter what situation they were in.
